I’m reaching out to see if anyone in this community has faced a similar issue and can offer advice.
The Situation:
On October 9, 2024, I made a bank transfer to top up my PayPal balance due to a negative balance from a dispute case. The dispute was resolved outside of PayPal, but the funds I sent (400 EUR) never appeared in my PayPal account.
I’ve contacted PayPal support multiple times over the past 40+ days, providing:
- My bank’s monthly statements (October & November).
- A payment trace from my bank confirming the transfer reached PayPal’s Deutsche Bank account.
- Screenshots of the transfer details, matching PayPal’s instructions.
Despite this, PayPal claims they can’t "locate the transaction" and repeatedly says they will "verify again." Meanwhile, the funds haven’t been credited to my PayPal balance or reversed back to my bank account.
Steps I’ve Taken:
- Provided all requested documents multiple times.
- Verified the transfer details with my bank, which confirmed everything was correct.
- Asked PayPal to escalate the issue or involve their Deutsche Bank account, but I keep getting generic responses.
My Frustration:
It’s been over 40 days, and I feel stuck in a loop of repetitive responses without any resolution. I’ve done everything on my end to prove the money was transferred successfully, but I’m not getting any clear answers or timelines from PayPal.
My Question to the Community:
- Has anyone else experienced missing funds with PayPal?
- Were you able to resolve it? How?
- Is there a way to escalate this effectively (perhaps beyond regular support)?
- Could this situation warrant legal action if PayPal continues to be unresponsive?
