How do I stop two further paymenfs on an item returned and one payment made?

I have had an exhausting and unproductive chat about a recent pay in 3 transaction. I returned the item, purchased by this arrangement, today. I have already made 1 payment. All I need to know is how the remaining payments are not processed by PayPal as I no longer have the item and how do I receive my initial payment back? Thanks!

Did the seller issues you a refund on return of the item?

Refund is being processed. One payment of three has been taken by Paypal. What happens to that payment? Thanks.

Yes, I've studied this. Thanks. Unfortunately I have M.E. and don't process information very well. What I can't get my head round is where does the M&S refund go to on Pay in 3. Does it go to me directly or to PayPal? What happens to the payments of which I've made one with two to go?
