Hi, I haven't done much on PayPal yet. But when I am providing a service. And somebody is paying me for that service. Why am I getting charged to receive that money? Is there a way around this.

No, you pay a fee to receive a payment if you are selling goods or services. That is how paypal fund the service and pay their staffs wages !!
The only option that is free to the receiver is the friends/family option HOWEVER paypal checks those payments to make sure a seller is not using that option to receive payments against their rules. If they are they risk account limitation. Also that option renders your seller protection ineligible.
Advice is voluntary.
Kudos / Solution appreciated.
