why does money still appear in bank

Just wondering why my bank account still shows money that I sent successfully thru PayPal. It has been days and there is no hold on it and everything looks okay so I'm wondering why it's still in my account? I have not contacted the recipient (and don't want to). I thought the payments were instant when done during business hours. Thanks

Transfers from bank accounts are never instant, that is why when you buy something paypal credit the seller upfront for you and paypal take the wait for the funds to transfer to pay them back again, this is so you get your item without delay.

Takes 5-7 working days for a banks echeque to transfer as Paypal use the slowest (cheapest) transfer option BUT funds normally leave your bank account from a few hours up to a few days later.

Thanks for your response. I panicked because I'm sending rent! I just don't remember it taking so long to deduct from my account. A better question is " when I send money is it immediate(or at least same day) to the recipient? I don't really care how long it takes to appear on my bank account just as long as the recipient gets it. Like I said I panicked 😄 Thanks again.
