"Please return to and choose another way to pay" error message .

I am based in South Africa. I set up my PayPal account in 2021 but delinked it and linked it it again this year. I linked a credit card to it and also added funds to the wallet.

But when I tried buying 2x 100$ iTunes vouchers from paypal.com/us/gifts/ I got an error message - "Please return to and choose another way to pay". I got this message when I tried using my credit card AND then after, the funds in my Wallet ($200). I'd like to know what could the problem be.

I suspect it’s because you’re based in South Africa. The site you went to buy gift card is for US.

I went to PayPal Help Center for South Africa and searched for ‘gift’ and no search results.

But PayPal Help Center for US, there was search results:
