my order was supposedly cancelled but my money is being held

I had an issue with my billing address when ordering a product earlier, so the payment apparently didn't go through. I contacted their customer service and I was told my order had been cancelled and I hadn't been charged, but paypal still shows the payment in my activity as "authorization in progress," and the money I paid is no longer in my balance. I tried reporting an issue in the resolution center, but it says i can't submit it because of the type of transaction. Will the payment cancel itself eventually, or do I need to do something? Is the money supposed to be taken from your balance despite the payment pending authorization?

When you pay a company then it is often pending or awaiting authorisation until that company processes your order and captures the pending payment.

If they don't process the order and capture that payment then the pending status times out at 30 days post-payment and returns back to your funding source.
