“Sorry, we weren't able to authorize your card. Please choose another way to pay.” Error.

Title basically says it all, i have been trying to use my Visa debit card to subscribe to a Patreon via PayPal, but it always comes back with the “ Sorry, we weren't able to authorize your card. Please choose another way to pay.” error. The card info is all in correctly, the balance on the card is fine, so i have no idea why i am getting this error. Any ideas?

I can understand how frustrating it is when you get an error while processing the payment. As per the information that you have shared, I see that we could not authorize the payment from your card. Whenever you initiate a transaction using PayPal, our internal security system will review the transaction for any possible risk. This is just a security measure that we take to make sure the account is safe. If there is any risk found our system will block the transactions temporarily. Have you verified your PayPal account? If not, please verify before initiating the transaction by following the steps mentioned in this help center article to avoid any risk trigger again.
