Receiving money

I live in the Eurozone and my costumer paid me in EUR but Paypal automatically converted it to USD. This is not acceptable, because I will pay the conversion fees twice, to receive and to withdraw.

In the past, this never happened, money, whether in USD, EUR or GBP, was deposited into the account in the original currency.

Does anyone know why this is happening now ?

Welcome to the PayPal Community and thank you for your post!

I am sorry to hear what has happened. I know this must be concerning. Based on what you have explained, it sounds like your primary PayPal balance is in USD. 

When you receive a payment into your PayPal account, it will be automatically placed on your primary balance. If this is a different currency to the one the payment was sent in, it would be converted. 

To update the currency of your primary balance, simply click on Manage Currencies under your PayPal balance.
