Paypal reversed my payment purchase stating a risk was identified.

I've been using Paypal to purchase from Aliexpress for a couple years now, and recently, Paypal held a payment purchase from a multi-item/vendor purchase on Aliexpress, stating it was under review according to their guidelines. Then around 4 hours later, I get an email stating that the payment has been reversed as a 'risk was identified.' With no further details provided even when I login to my Paypal account to look over my account activity, I'm not sure how I can even prevent this from happening again in the future. This is quite frustrating since a few of those items were time-sensitive purchases that I even accommodated the delivery times for.

Anyone have an idea as to what the issue may be? Thanks in advance!

Welcome to PayPal's Community Forum! I know it would be disappointing to have a payment reversed when the order is time-sensitive. I apologize for the inconvenience this has caused. All transactions processed through our platform are subject to review to ensure they comply with global regulatory requirements and our User Agreement. The factors used by PayPal to mitigate risk are considered proprietary information and aren't disclosed publicly. If the risk involved is to high, the payment would be refunded, which means PayPal also misses out. I'm afraid there isn't a way to avoid these types of reviews because they help us keep PayPal safe and secure for all of our users.
