Paypal glitch closes account twice in 24 hours

I have been registered with Paypal since 2009, using the same bank account. Two days ago, I got an email from Paypal saying they had removed my bank account as a transaction never went through. I phoned paypal after I was unable to reconnect my bank account and they did it for me. I paid the money and it is pending. The money was always in my account. So, I figured it was a one off glitch that would never happen again. Today, however, I get another paypal email, saying they have removed my bank account. I went to reinstate it. But the webpage is telling me to try again later. I cannot phone a PayPal employee as it is out of hours. The $761 I paid yesterday is pending. Today Paypal has doubled that amount. I can pay it, and then withdraw the extra cash back later when this trouble has been resolved. But, I can't pay it until my bank account is reinstated. And I am very worried that when it is reinstated, the same thing is going to happen again. And what if they keep doubling the amount every 24 hours? It is a glitch at there website. But I can't phone them. I am very worried about this.

Welcome to the PayPal Community, @Roses42. I'm sorry to hear you're running into some issues using a bank for a specific transaction. Is this a savings account by chance? If so, you may run into some difficulties using it on PayPal depending on the restrictions set by your banking institution. If it's not, I'd recommend reaching out to our Customer Support teams by clicking "Contact" at the bottom of any PayPal page for the available contact methods - you may see other options other than just 'Call us'. They're also available via Twitter direct message and Facebook instant message.

Good luck!

Hi Jon,

I contacted customer support twice. Hopefully, this time they have fixed it. But I am too scared to use Paypal again until my outstanding balance finishes "pending." My account is a cheque account. It has been my Paypal account since 2009. I asked my bank if they were responsible and they said they were not, It was at Paypals end.

Paypal's only advice was too not click multiple times on the  button when linking my bank account. I couldn't be bothered explaining that  I hadn't been doing that. If it happens again, my bank told me I can use my credit card like a debit card, by transferring money onto it, and then spending it. Which I have done, while waiting for the pending payment for PayPal to clear.

Paypal has just done it for a third time. When I get this sorted out, Paypal will have lost a very good customer. I
