Payment sent to the wrong account

Hello. I sent money to my friend to his old PayPal account. I have used the Friends and Family option to send payment. Unfortunately, I wasn't aware that my friend was having a problem with his old account and had a new PayPal account. And now I'm losing my money, I can't get it back from my side and my friend can't log in to his account. What can I do in such a situation? Please help, Thanks

If its showing as sent and not unclaimed or pending then it has successfully transferred to the email address you sent it to that is linked to an active paypal account.

So if he can't log in tell him to contact customer services to help him regain access?

Beware of scammers that tell you to send that way and then say they can't access the account knowing there is little you can do about it.
