How to delete bank account from a deleted account

I recently set up a new PP account for a local charity but they gave me the  wrong email address. You can't change the user email so I deleted that account and tried to set up a new one. Now they are not accepting the bank account on the new PP account, saying it is already used by another account. Help!

Bank account is apparently still linked to a closed PP account so it can't be added to a new PP account. How to fix?

Welcome to the PayPal Community Forum. I'm sorry to hear you've run into some difficulty adding your bank to your new PayPal account. It sounds like the bank has reached it's limit on how many accounts it can be on in the course of it's history with PayPal. When that happens, normally, it's best to add a different bank account number or request a new account number from the bank.

Also, just for the future, you do have the option to add a new email address to PayPal, confirm it, make it primary, and then remove the old email address from your account.
