When my automatic payment goes through later this month, I don’t want anything deducted from my PayPal balance. I want 100% paid via attached credit card. The settings page says “Payment method. We’ll use your balance first. Then we'll use <credit card>”. Is there any way to change this? The service only accepts automated PayPal payments.

Withdrawing your entire PayPal balance or sending your balance to a different PayPal account temporarily before the automatic payment happens is the only options I can think of.
Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂

The response from PayPal support was not very helpful. They basically said maybe or maybe not but definitely your account balance will be used.
I believe you provided the best option. Thanks for taking the time to respond @sharpiemarker.
