Need to change payment source to add money to PayPal balance

I am trying to add money to my PayPal balance as it's in arrears. When I go to clear this, it automatically chooses an old card (the new card same account is also linked in my wallet) and gives a payment error and won't let me change to another payment method. I have tried to delete this card from my wallet but it gives me an error that it can't delete it right now and it also has an 'accept mandate' message on this card which I have tried to accept but nothing happens? How am I supposed to clear my paypal balance if it keeps using an old card and won't let me change it.

@SJJS

You can only add funds to a balance via a confirmed bank account (not card) as per link.

You can do it instantly if you have online banking and use the 2nd option after you click to transfer.

Other options......

Ways to clear a negative balance.

1. Transfer funds from your bank account via the add funds function.

2. The quickest and easiest way is to get a mate or family member to send a payment via the friends / family option. As long as they don't fund it with a card it should be free.

3. Via a card over the phone with paypal.

4. Or mail a cheque as per 2nd link posted above.

5. Buy something and Paypal will normally add the debt to that payment during checkout when you authorise the purchase.
