I paid for the product, PayPal withdrew money from the card, the store canceled the order.

Hello dear friends!

Yesterday I wanted to purchase recharge cards for the PS Store on PlayAsia website. The order amount was about $340. Money was withdrawn from the card, and on the PlayAsia website, a few minutes later, a notification came that my order, which I had already paid for, had been cancelled. PayPal currently has the following transaction status: "Authorization: This is a temporary authorization to make sure your funding source will cover the payment. Your funding source will be charged when PlayAsia completes your order.". I contacted the bank and they said that the payment was successful and the funds are no longer in my account.

I cannot use the "Report" function in the "Resolution Center" section on PayPal, apparently this is due to the status of the transaction. I have proof from PlayAsia website (screenshots etc) that my order has been cancelled. How can I get money back to my card?

Thank you all in advance!

The authorization is temporary, you’ll have to wait for authorization to expire on it’s own and drop off or to change to Completed status on PayPal and then dispute it as Item not received.

Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂

I have a similar situation. Do you know how long this temporary hold transaction will take, in days? I would like the buyer to see banking resolution asap, as it unfortunately occurred from my business error.

Hi @Lala1968,

Thank you for your post!

I do understand your concern with this. Once you have voided the order from your account (the merchant), the status of the authorization should change to Cancelled. Once this is done, the temporary charge would be released to the buyers bank account within 72 hours.

If your buyer has any further concerns, please advise them to contact our Customer Support

I hope this helps!
