How to get help considering Paypal Hold.

I have a business that has been using PayPal for three years now.

We have never had issues with PayPal, until this year. Our account was flagged for some reason after 3 years of smooth sailing, and now this is crippling our business.

At the moment, PayPal is holding 100% of all sales each month after $5879.87 in revenue. In essence, it means that after the first $6000 sold on PayPal, we are operating as cash flow negative until the next month.

I have reached out to your support and gotten very little help. First I was told we should wait 30 days and then request for an increase to the threshold - there has been no such option on our account even now after 40 days of the initial email about the hold.

I wanted to reach out to You to see, if there is anything you could possibly do to help us out to get this hold lifted. Would be happy to answer any and all questions.

This situation is unsustainable for us, since our company needs to be able to generate more revenue than what PayPal is currently allowing.

Thank you for taking the time and I'm looking forward to your reply.

We have updated tracking numbers and all are "shipped", we have low disputes and overall happy customers. Hopefully, someone can help us!

Hi @KimmoKimmo22,

Thank you for your post.

I so understand your frustration with this.

Reserves are a common industry practice. They are used to minimize losses and to create a safer shopping experience. We will periodically review the account to determine whether the reserve placement and amount needs to be adjusted. Reserves may be eligible for the reduction or removal with positive changes to key areas such as performance, industry, claims reduction, etc. Once one of these reviews are complete, you would be notified via email.

I hope you get this sorted!

Same problem - I am a very small business owner and can not pay my employees form getting an unexpected hold.  No help from CS so this is the message I posted to them.

I have already contacted PayPal about the hold that has been placed on this transaction, without any satisfaction. I find this to be very insulting to have PP place a hold on money that I have worked for and earned in a honest fashion. The money was for a service preformed for a long time client and was paid by that client in a timely manner so that I can also pay my employees in the same timely manner. Pay Pal can take their fee out with out placing a hold on the money but can not pass it along so a very small business owner can pay his employees. I find this very wrong inso many ways. Up front I do plan to pursue other actions to find another service that will understand and treat us small business owners in a more humane way. It will be a change to the way my clients do their business however they all agree that this practice is only for the protection of PayPal and has nothing to do with the loyal clients they server, or should I say DON'T serve. I hope that this message does not just get thrown in the trash but, may serve as a notice that the small business owners do not deserve to be treated like they don't matter. I would like to hear what someone with clout in PayPal would have to say in defense of such a stupid action as to putting a hold on earnings the we have worked hard for. Some faction that is higher than PayPal should put a hold on your money so you can see how it feels but, when you are controlling other peoples lives and money you must become hardened to feelings. I doubt this message will ever see the light of day but, count on that you will loose a supporter in me.
