How do I invoice for a nontangible service (online tutoring) so that my money is not held?

I am an online tutor. After I tutor, I invoice and offer clients PayPal as a way to pay. When they pay, PayPal is holding my funds, asking for shipping and tracking info. Without the shipping and tracking, they hold the money for 21 days.

This is insane. Surely other people sell online and nontangible goods??

PayPal Help tells me to "Update the status to a nontangible item," but there is NO SUCH THING! The only updates possible are "Add tracking info..." or "Refund," or "Archive." And under the tracking info, you can choose "Shipped," and decline to put the tracking info, but that is the closest thing I can find to a non-tangible option.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Hi @fishguyark1

Thanks for your post and welcome to PayPal community!

I'm sorry to hear that your funds are on hold, It usually happens when the funds is sent in goods payment. You should be able to see an option to select it as service or intangible items please check this article

However, I would suggest you to please try clearing the cache and cookies from your browser and give a try to see if it works. If you are still facing issue please contact us.

I hope this information was helpful!
