Currency Conversion Question

Hello,

I have funds in my account that were paid in GBP and will be deposited into my account in USD. 

My question is: Do you get the exchange rate from the day the money was sent or when you decide to transfer to your bank?

I want to wait to transfer so I can maximize my conversion to USD..that's why I ask.
