Cancelling a payment from a bank account

Hi I added a bank account to PayPal. Did a payment from it and realised it wasn't immediate so the friend and family I paid asked me to cancel it and send it via my Visa card. Now it's double the fees (despite PayPal saying otherwise) And I can't cancel the payment using the activities tab. I can only archive it. I need help.

If the first payment is an eCheck that’s Pending (click the transaction to check), you’ll have to ask your bank to decline it or put a stop payment on it (your bank may charge a fee to take this action).

Here are the PayPal fees if sending f&f payment internationally and with cards.

Your card issuer could also charge applicable cash advance interest rates and cash advance fees on f&f payments.

You can usually cancel a PayPal payment that is in a pending or unclaimed status. These payments will have a status of “Unclaimed” and will show in the “Pending” section of your PayPal account or Activity page. You can only cancel a pending payment that has a "Cancel" link next to it.

You can also ask recipient to not accept (or deny/decline) the payment to return it to you.

If the payment you sent is pending for 30 days, it will be canceled automatically and refunded to you. If you sent the payment using a debit or credit card, the refund will be credited to the card you used. It may take up to 30 days for the card to be credited. If you sent your payment using a bank account and the payment is canceled, it will be refunded to your PayPal balance. If the payment has not cleared your bank yet, please allow 3-4 business days for the money to appear in your balance. Once the payment is in your balance you can transfer the funds to your bank account.

If the payment has completed or sent status, you’ll need to contact the recipient and request a refund. Note, the fees you initially paid are not refunded if recipient already accepted payment and issues a refund.

Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂
