My mother sent me money from her credit card so that I can buy my car. The car company did not except that card. We used PayPal. Immediately PayPal locked my money up. After a few days they finally u locked my money(remember I’m gonna loose this car and this is a personal account not business) they say to me there are no holds I have full access to my money. Lies!! For 5days they keep telling me it’s the system. Allow it to reset! I have waited 24 hours 48 hours and 72 hours to no avail. Any type of transaction I try to do on this PayPal account it gives me an error message telling me I’m unable to do it and to try again later every time I call customer service they give me the runaround because they don’t know how to help me, At this point I feel like this Hass to be illegal I have no access to any of my funds not any of them! Give it time for the system to reset they tell me I do so nothing happens but my account is not locked they tell me but I have no access to any of my money at this point I don’t know what to do!

Hi Temp20220704A,

Welcome to the PayPal Community Forum.

I am very sorry to hear this has happened. It sounds like you received a larger payment than usual therefore, this may have triggered our internal security system.

From your post, it sounds like you may be attempting to withdraw your balance and that is where you are seeing an error.

In order to override this, I would suggest waiting for 72 hours before trying to withdraw your balance again. After 72 hours, please try and withdraw your balance via the PayPal website rather than the app. Please also avoid using any VPNs. Also, ensure the bank account on your PayPal account is confirmed

More troubleshooting steps can be found here: PayPal error messages when trying to transfer money

If this does not work, I would suggest reaching out to our customer service team directly.
