International shiping...I need help please with getting a label with the correct amount of postage!

I got my first international order today...from Canada...I'm in the US.  When I launched my business a couple months ago, I downloaded international postage rates from the US Postal Service.  The package I'm needing to mail is a very small one weighing only 3.7 ounces and the chart from the USPS says that postage rate on a 4 oz pkg to Canada is $2.01.
I started to print out my Paypal shipping label as usual but when I had to pick the" service type," my only two choices were Express International Mailing and Priority International Mailing...with the postage costing $24 something and $20 something!  There were no other choices and I'm guessing that it's because Paypal saw that the address of the recipient of my package is in Canada...but I still don't get why there were no other choices on postage.

What am I overlooking?  For US mailings, it normally asks me the size of the package but I notice on this international label, it just asks me the weight of the pkg and what service I prefer.  (sigh)  What do I need to do to get the Paypal shipping to be $2.01 like the Postal Service chart says it should be?  Thank you so much in advance!

Hello, you can not ship international orders via USPS first class through Paypal. I am not really sure why they do not offer this option. I would suggest using the free version of Endicia for your international shipping. You can ship your international packages via firstclass, priority or express with it. The nice thing is it will print the customs form for you as well. Just set it up to auto import you sales from Ebay and auto mark the labels you print to update both paypal and ebay when shipped. It might take a bit of time to get the settings within Endicia the way you want them but it will save you a lot of time.

Hello,

As gertdoggydotcom mentioned, PayPal does not currently support First Class Intl. labels.  Another option for you is Stamps.com which supports all mail classes, including First Class Intl.  With Stamps.com you can also insure international packages for any mail class to any country the USPS delivers to.

For eBay orders, you will even be able to use Stamps.com for free (you will need to pay for postage, but subscription fees are waived).

If there any other questions I can answer for you, please feel free to email me at social(at)stamps.com.

Thanks!

Chuck
