Connecting my UPS to Paypal

I have had a Paypal account for years and was never able to use my UPS account.  I have a UPS account number.  For some reason when I try to use it through Paypal it comes up saying my contact information is different than what is on file for UPS.  I have checked both accounts and have no idea what Paypal is referring too.  My address is exactly the same in both places and I don't know what else to look for.  It is very inconvenient because instead of going through paypal to print my labels I have to go to UPS directly.  Can someone help me figure this out once and for all.  Thanks.

Actually, let's not let it go at that.

 

Olivia, you said this is a "known issue." How long as it been known? It's been affecting me for four months now. What is the expected time to resolve it? On page one you insisted that the issue was fixed when it actually wasn't. It took me posting SCREENSHOTS OF YOUR SITE FAILING to get you to admit otherwise. So can I look forward to more assertions that the problem is fixed when it demonstrably isn't?

 

What's the actual nature of the problem? Whose fault is it?

 

It's worth noting that in the entire sordid history of this issue not one person from PayPal has ever expressed anything even remotely approaching an apology for the inconvenience. In lieu of that, I'd accept a promise from you, Olivia, personally, that you will stop asserting blithely that everything is fine until I can print just ONE UPS label successfully. How about that?

 

I mean, I'm assuming that you're a real human being, and not just the face of Skynet.

I appreciate your frustration over this. I am sorry that I did not know earlier about the issue. Typically, when problems of the nature you described are reported, the quick workaround does the trick. Your issue, like I said, is affecting a proportionately small group of people, which is also why I was unaware of it until I did a lot more digging.

 

I am indeed sorry for the inconvenience. It's definitely not my goal or anyone else's to prevent you from conducting business smoothly and efficiently. When there are technical issues, we research them as quickly as we can, and apply fixes when they have been thoroughly tested to ensure that they will not cause other problems.

 

I'll let you know when I have updates.

There are few other threads out there on this, but the subject lines aren't very direct.

 

It appears that several people are having problems shipping via UPS, as PayPal is saying that our addresses in the UPS system and PayPal system are not the same.  I've changed addresses in both systems to be exactly the same (even through they were basically identical anyway) and I've also updated my eBay address to be exactly the same.  I've also updated all phone numbers to be the same.

 

I still get the error message and can't ship via UPS through PayPal currently.  Anyone else having this problem or found a resolution?

Yes same here. Judging by the dates nobody is working on this.

 

UPS is a giant pain in the behind. They use the USPS address database and if you happen to not be in that database (even if your house is owned by you and you have lived there for four years - how ridiculous is that?)  then you are **bleep**ed. I have called UPS and USPS and the both decline to do anything about it. They even go so far as to say it is not their fault.

 

There is NOTHING you can do about it.

 

It means you can't use the very nifty software paypal has created for your conveniece and you have to lug your box to a UPS center or affiliate and pay the extra money.

 

or use USPS. May be that's what they want.....

Whenever I have that problem, it means I need to edit the ship to address, by either fitting things on the lines differently,

making sure that the phone number is formatted correctly, etc.  I have never not been able to print a lable after fiddling with it a little bit..............happens mostly to me for international addresses, but again, I have always been able to print.

I am having this problem as well and there doesn't appear to be a solution out there that I can find.  If anyone has one or an idea please post it asap.   I know this is not ups's fault.  Its paypal's fault for even having this in there software.  Who cares if the addresses don't match.  Maybe I have more than one address.  What then?   If I call paypal I ended up hanging up because I'm on the line for 15 minutes or more and they don't respond to my emails.   Now I have to copy the info down and go to ups.com to ship my stuff (cause i care about customer service i refuse to use the government ran usps)  its a pain in the butt..............

This continues to be a problem. I went to ship something today and now matter how many times I follow the above instructions, I keep getting this message:

 

This User ID already exists.PayPal Shipping is not available. We apologize for the inconvenience.

 

However, there is no place where it tells me what is the actual User ID. Is it my Paypal account? Is it my Company Name? Is it my contact number?

 

I have never registered with UPS but went to their website and created an exact match to my Paypal info and tried again but still get the same error message.

 

It would really be nice to send a ship using money from my Paypal account.
