Connecting my UPS to Paypal

I have had a Paypal account for years and was never able to use my UPS account.  I have a UPS account number.  For some reason when I try to use it through Paypal it comes up saying my contact information is different than what is on file for UPS.  I have checked both accounts and have no idea what Paypal is referring too.  My address is exactly the same in both places and I don't know what else to look for.  It is very inconvenient because instead of going through paypal to print my labels I have to go to UPS directly.  Can someone help me figure this out once and for all.  Thanks.

It's been broken like this for me for over three months.  Followed all the advice and all the steps, nothing works.  FedEx and USPS are making out big time here.  PayPal should be ashamed of themselves due to their lack of communication, follow through, and customer service.

I also  have the  same  problem,  started in December 2010.   Worked  fine  previously  for  years,     Call  both  UPS  and Paypal  at least once a  week,  both verify information matches,  no one  fixes  the problem, just blaming each other.

Yeah. I'll bet anybody $100 that it won't be fixed by March.

I'll throw my name in the hat.  I've got the same never heard of that, only effecting a couple of accounts, don't worry about it we'll get it fixed, try doing the same thing you've done a hundred times before problem.  Hope we have any answer soon.  Cut and Paste is driving  me crazy.

It's been going on so long now that I honestly don't think PayPal cares. Those of us having the problem can go pound sand, I guess.

Hi everyone,

 

I haven't forgotten you, but I also haven't had anything new to report. It's still being worked on, and I will report when we have it fixed.

 

In the meanwhile, for those of you who have not already tested to see if the fix works for you, please try the following workarounds which may help you. I already know that there are a few of you for whom these fixes do not work, but newcomers to the thread should certainly give them a shot:

 

1. Remove your UPS account and then add it back in by selecting that you have an existing UPS account. If that doesn't work,

2. Double-check your address information. Delete any trailing spaces, check to make sure the abbreviations (if any) match on PayPal and in your UPS account. If that doesn't work,

3. Remove your UPS account and the create a new UPS account through PayPal.

 

I have checked with all of my colleagues to see if I can find more tips or workarounds in the meanwhile, and I have collected a couple more things to try that we did not talk about previously on this thread:

 

1. Check in your shipping profile and make sure that your ship-from phone number is added.

2. Try deleting your UPS account from your PayPal account, then sign up for a new UPS account on the UPS site. Then come back to your PayPal account and add the new account number in there.

 

I have heard that  one or the other of these is working for some people where the other workarounds have not - nsayer, you may want to give these a try.

 

Let me know what works for you, and I promise I will be back as soon as I know more.

Adding the phone number to the ship-from address (which the page says is required only for international shipping) fixed the problem.

Though I do say that the fact that in 5 months of having this problem no one thought to mention it - combined with the page being wrong about it being only being necessary for international shipments - is astonishing.

 

I had tried your 2nd suggestion (creating a UPS account first) many times before, and it didn't make any difference.

Speaking of phone numbers.  Even though I deleted an old home phone number and changed my work number to my cell number..  The old home phone keeps showing up, but not on the edit page just on the profile.  I already had a ship from phone number that is correct.  The strange thing is Paypal Shipping profile page says I don't have a UPS account, but I keep getting the  "This User ID already exists.PayPal Shipping is not available. We apologize for the inconvenience." warning.  Any suggestions?

That message you're getting means that you're in the same nightmare world that the rest of the victims of this problem.

 

I managed to escape by adding a phone number to the shipping-from address, which is not the same as the address on the paypal account profile.
