Paypal can not process my payment when I try to use my debit/credit card to pay for ebay item won.

Whenever I try to use my debit/credit card to pay for a purchase from Ebay, rather than my savings or credit card, I get an error message that Paypal can't process my payment at this time and to try to sign again using a different card. Why can't I use my debit card (it is listed as one of my accounts I can use!) when I have always used it before?

Thanks,

Cheryl

Yes - I have the same issue. I purchased an item on ebay, go through the 'Pay Now' checkout with Paypal, click 'Change Payment' to select a credit card, confirm payment and hit submit, then Paypal tries to process it but comes up with this error message:

We were not able to process your payment.
  • Please check out again and try a different credit card or bank account for your PayPal payment.
  • If you're still having problems, contact PayPal customer support.

Please help! I need to pay for this item.

Does anyone know their 1-800 number for customer service?

Their number is found when you Login, Click "Contact Us", Click "Call Us".

I thought I'd answer the topic as I've solved the problem now:

The payment will not process if your card is being denied (believing the charge to be suspicious or fraudulent). In this case, call the number on the back of your card to remove any blocks or holds and clarify attempted charges.

On the other hand, the card may be getting denied because you are attempting to charge it over your credit card's limit. In this case, make sure you are not overcharging the card and have sufficient funds or credit to cover the charge. If you are waiting on credit card payments to be made to free up some credit funds, you may need to wait 1-2 business days as the card clears the payments and lowers the totals of your charges until you can charge the available amount (and not overcharge).
