Very simple payment page. Enter amount & redirect to paypal to process

Hi all,

I have a pretty basic question which i am sure has a pretty simple answer but at the moment it is eluding me.

I have developing a website where the client has a paypal account and wishes to process payments through paypal.

I have therefore created a very simple webpage where the user can enter in the amount and press a button to be redirected to paypal.

The URL it is redirecting to is as follows.. ahh cant post the url.

The variables of the url are as follows:

cmd=_cart

upload=1

business=email

currency_code=GBP

item_name_1=Testing

amount_1=1.01

country=GB

This redirects to paypal and you get the usual payment screen (with business name at the top etc), shopping cart listed and then the form to fill in with a credit/debit card.

When i enter my credit card details and try and process a £1.01 payment paypal errors with the "Sorry, an error occurred after you clicked the last link"

I am a compentant coder and have read the paypal integration guide front to back, however that was literally 2-3 years ago and i havent touched paypal since. Therefore i have basically forgotton everything! 😞

I suspect the problem lies within the account preferences / settings and not the actual code (as its incredibly basic).

I am using my own paypal business account to test with (i.e trying to send payments to) and my own personal credit card.

Could someone please tell me what account preferences etc i need configuring for this simply payment process to work?

Any help would be greatly appreicated.

Kind regards

Dan
