I sold a coat to a woman for £100 she agreed on my method of posting (Royal Mail first class parcel) paid through good and service. Got intouch 6 days after I sent the proof of postage receipt to tell me it hadn't arrived. I typed the reference number into the Royal Mail website and it is marked down as delivered, I've spoken to Royal Mail who have since sent a letter which in that states this item was delivered. She is now asking me for the £100 back. But I have sent and have proof of sending this item. She was un happy that Royal Mail website states she could only claim back £20 so has came to pay pal to resolve. We're so I stand? This item was sold through a Facebook group and messinging one another.

Hi Susan06,

Welcome to the community forum and thanks for posting.

Our Seller Protection protects you from claims, chargebacks or reversals that are a result of unauthorised purchases or items your buyer didn’t receive. With PayPal’s Seller Protection, you are protected for the full amount of all eligible transactions.

If a transaction is eligible for seller protection, it will be marked as eligible or partially eligible on the ‘Transaction Details’ page. If it is marked as partially eligible, you are only protected for items a buyer didn’t receive.

Here are some additional requirements you need to meet for seller protection:

  • Post the item to the address on the ‘Transaction Details Page.’
  • Provide proof of delivery (we require online tracking to confirm delivery).
  • Respond to our requests for documentation and other information.

To learn more about PayPal’s Seller Protection Policy, click Legal at the bottom of any PayPal page, and then click User Agreement for PayPal Service.
