Can I disable and enable international shipping with a basic button?

HI,

I'm using a simple buy now button. I can't see anything anywhere about international orders? Can I enable them and disable them? If I don't have the option are they enabled or disabled by default?

I have set up fixed postage charges, but obviously if someone orders on the other side of the worked it would cost way more, so if possible I'd like to disable international orders by default.

Thanks

zandergrin,

Assuming you have a Business US PayPal Account, you can use the Fraud Controls in your Account to disable International orders.  Note, it does not remove the Ship Outside US on the PayPal Screen but can control which countries you don't intend to ship to.  Also, there's a few options under Block Payments in your Account Profile that will need to be on.

Well a couple of hours later I stumble across this thread. I read something along the lines of "seems like you need to be a programmer to get this working".

Well after reading this I will be working on my own little form that will you change the postage cost depending on the country picked.

Unfortunately it will require the customer to pick the shipping country as I dont think I can retrieve this information from paypal before purchase. Its not ideal but it seems like its the only option at the moment. I'll post up details when im done.

Cool, can't wait.

I'm in Australia and it's the same for us. I've also asked Paypal to look into this but they say the same thing EVERY year, "...we'll look into it for the future" and then they came up with something alright, they came up with a monthly subscription system that you have to pay something per month about $25.

Makes no sense... the US sellers don't have to do that to get access to the international shipping options, so why do we have to pay for it?

I'm actually seriously considering to move away from Paypal, even Google Wallet is looking attractive right about now..

We too are a UK based company that up till now haven't used Paypal but have recently begun trading via Ebay. Now several of our regular customers are asking why we cant offer paypal on our own website.

We have been looking into adding Paypal shopping cart (basic version) to the site but have also come up against the International Shipping problem - surely this needs a solution by now (having read the earlier comments of the thread I can see this has been going on for almost 4 years!)

With the recent UK TV campaign highlighting the benefits of Paypal its a shame that such a small aspect can let it down.

Just adding my support in what seems to be a 4 year long quest in asking paypal to allow UK sellers to sell internationally. I'm hoping to grow my business by offering a sales page away from ebay, but many of my customer base are in different parts of the world. Whilst i appreciate i could set postage costs for the UK and state on my sales page that International buyers will have to pay a surcharge directly through paypal, i do believe this to look incredibly amatuer and it may scare away potential new buyers thinking it may be a scam.

Options really do need to be integrated to apply different costs to UK, Europe & Rest Of World.
