I recently sold a make up and perfume set on ebay. The buyer contacted me saying there was a scratch on the box which i was not aware of when it was sent and i checked it thoroughly i also wrapped it in layers apon layers of bubble wrap so i doubt this could have happened upon transit, however instead of messaging me via ebay she opened up a paypal claim which is fair enough. I emailed her via ebay saying i am very shocked she was unhappy and apologised for the damage to the box. I responded to her dispute asking her to return the item and i will process a full refund, however, she has since escalated it to a claim and stated to me that she wants a full refund and to keep the item. Now at the beginning she had said that she was unable to give it as a christmas present due to the "damage" on it so now that she wants to keep it and get a refund is basically confirming to me she is an absoloute chancer and there is probably nothing wrong with the product. So my question is i am now worried that paypal will refund her and tell her not to return the item and if that was going to be the case i would be completely out of pocket.

Paypal will tell her to return the item back to you trackable to prove delivery before you have to refund her.
But the risk is that she sends back something else so take evidence when you receive the item as you may have to appeal any decision with paypal.
Advice is voluntary.
Kudos / Solution appreciated.
