Hi Joe, obviously we cannot tell you how to do your business on eBay or anywhere else. PayPal does have a Seller Protection Policy to cover sellers in the event of reversals of funds etc. However, like all policies, it has terms and conditions, and in the event that a transaction has to be reversed (which is a tiny percentage of all the transactions on PayPal) we will first look for a proof of delivery of the item sold to the shipping address as it appears in the transaction details page. It you don’t have this basic information, you would not be covered.
We do appreciate that some things are too large or inconvenient to post by mail or deliver by courier. In this case, you should take some basic steps to protect yourself. What is the buyer’s feedback? Is the buyer willing to show you a proof of identity or address when they come for the item? Please also review our Seller Protection policy. You can find information very simply by clicking on ‘Legal Agreements’ at the bottom of every PayPal page.
