Resolved issue with FACEBOOK fraud!!!

Thanks so much Paypal for resolving the issue with Facebook. They illegally collected my Paypal information when I bought $5 in credits for my daughter to play a game. Months later, we saw over $200 worth of charges coming for facebook credits on a facebook game. My 9 year old daughter was able to "add credits" during the game and unfortunately the game did not ask for a password on the Paypal account. We have dealt with Paypal for years and we were disgusted by this. Facebook, nor the game would reverse the charges. So we went to Paypal with the claim. They recovered all our funds because Facebook was stealing our information. I know for a fact that if we had used a credit card, we would not have been able to recover any of the money.  We have since received all of the  $ in our bank account  and I would like to praise Paypal for their continued top notch security and support. paypal is a decent transaction provider. I just wish they wouldn't pretend to be 'a friend' or 'loved'

Facebook. Please go away.

PayPal has amazing services at times. But the problem is when the person filing the claim is being dishonest. Or when PayPal has difficulty filing the claim.

DAllen,

I'm sorry to hear that this happened to you, but I'm glad we were able to recover the money for you.  If you do purchase credits on Facebook in the future, log into PayPal after it's been paid and be sure to cancel any billing agreements you may have with them.  You can do this by going to Profile > My Money > Update beside "My Preapproved Payments."

Take care,

Adrian

Adrian,

That is good advice. I didn't even know this feature existed. I have just purchased Facebook credits and was very alarmed that I did not have to log into Paypal to authorize the payment. Facebook's activities are illegal and reprehensible in this respect as I DID NOT agree to any pre-authorized payment activity in the future. I have sent them an email and will send one to Paypal directly if I can ever figure out where and how to send it. Thanks,

Sean
