Scam product from RapidRoot

On October 30th, I purchased a product from RapidRoot, specifically a VPS with the following specifications: 6 CPUs, 32GB RAM, and 350GB disk space, priced at just $39 per year, which is incredibly low. I noticed that PayPal was an acceptable payment method, so I decided to make the purchase.

Right after, I discovered that the product was not functional, as the IP was completely unreachable, and I couldn’t do anything through their VPS management portal. I tried contacting them to resolve the issue, but they were completely incompetent and had no knowledge in this field.

So, I decided to search for more information about RapidRoot online, and all the reviews I found led me to conclude that they were a scam. I opened a case with PayPal, providing all the necessary information to prove that the product was inaccessible in every way. However, PayPal still decided in favor of the seller.

Now I can’t even see my product on their new management portal because, apparently, they change addresses every month. It seems they’re using trial software for management.

Can you help me figure out how to get my money back? Thank you.

The best thing is to do due diligence reviews before purchasing especially if the deal is too good to be true or mega cheap.

If you funded your paypal payment via a credit card then reach out to your card issuer and see if they will help you with a chargeback.

However be aware they decline sometimes as well dependent on their t&c.
