Item lost in transit and Paypal keep pushed out resolution date.

Hi,

 

-I purchased a 5-figure item using Paypal buyer protection on 12/6/2023.

-Seller shipped the item through Pilot Freight on 12/7/2023. 

-Carrier confirmed that the item was lost in transit on 12/18/23.

-I filed a claim through Paypal Resolution Center on 12/19/23. (I should have asked to seller for refund, but I thought it was right process for refund)

-Seller filed a claim to insurance of the Pilot Freight 12/28/23.

-Seller updated tracking number to the dispute on 12/28/23.

-Initial resolution date was 1/8/24 but it keeps pushed out. Also, Paypal never have reached out to seller & Carrier for information.  I have no idea how they are investigating my case without reaching out them. 

-That tracking information shows it is "in transit", but there is not any movement since it picked up 64days ago. 

-I called CS several times, but they keep telling me that they will wait till the tracking updated undelivered or delivered. 

-I don't think the truck company will update the tracking information. 

I wonder if I can reach out to bank for chargeback my case. I paid using debit. I am frustrating.
