I was scammed. Now have a negative balance.

Hello community,

My question is regarding a negative balance I have on my account. I was recently the victim of a scammer. I made payments to this person for a service and I was naively talked into using the family/gift option as payment. Of course when the service was not rendered there was no way to get my money back as the scammer of course never replied back to me. I filed a dispute with Paypal but lost since it was not an "unauthorized transaction" and I used the gift option. I was able to regain my money after calling my bank and having the transactions disputed/reversed. The problem now is I have a negative balance on my Paypal account for money I was scammed out of. Is there any way to resolve the negative balance with this circumstance in mind?

Thank you in advance for any help.

Ways to clear a negative balance.

1. Transfer funds from your bank account via the add funds function.

2. The quickest and easiest way is to get a mate or family member to send a payment via the friends / family option. As long as they don't fund it with a card it should be free.

3. Via a card over the phone with paypal.

4. Or mail a cheque as per link.

5. Buy something and Paypal will normally add the debt to that payment during checkout when you authorise the purchase.
