Paypal sent me an email notifying me of a transaction to an armory for $799. Not only did I not do this transaction, but I am very alarmed that someone could breach my Paypal account to buy goods from an armory!! This clearly is criminal activity, someone who is hacking into people's accounts to buy guns, ammo or other weapons!!! And I can't even call Paypal to talk to anyone!!! I sent a "message" thru their texting option, but does anyone know of a way to actually reach someone??
This is very serious and needs to be reported to authorities and the source of it tracked down!!!!!

Hi
I have also received a transaction notice by email for 379 $ that I have not done. I immediately checked in this community and found others with the same problem. I gather that they cannot withdraw any money (hopefully). But. The question is what PayPal is doing to
stop these fraudulent messages. It is very disturbing!

Me too, except the amount on mine was $718.83 to Branford Armory. The reply email had nothing to do with the armory, it was gmail account.
I think this email needs to be researched and charges brought against him/them.

I just got the email from them. They must be having a sale gong on - mine was only $715 for a 50 caliber machine gun. At that price I might buy several.

I know your issue was back in 2020. But I was looking for an answer to another question I had and came across your post. In the future, if you get an email that claims that you owe money or were charged something that you do not recognize look at the email address. In the case of PayPal, the email address will always have PayPal after the @ symbol. If it looks like a PayPal (or your bank's) email address a trick is to hover over the email address or link/URL in the email with your mouse pointer, then look in the bottom left of the screen, and you'll see the actual email or URL address.
For example, I received an email from "Speedway Armory LLC" which is an actual company, but this was a phishing attempt as when I looked at the email it came from it was from a [removed] and was a gmail email address which is not an official email address of that company, nor is it from PayPal.
Another example, I received an email that looked like it came from my credit card company that said I needed to login to change my password due to a security breach, when I hovered over the link that was provided the URL actually had the word "trojan" in it which indicated it would download a trojan virus to my computer.
Hope this helps anyone that reads this.

The fake Paypal message sent to me was for an alleged $700 purchase of a 45 cal handgun. This purchase was allegedly from Lone Wolf Armory. There is a Lone Wolf Armory whom I have contacted. I am awaiting a reply. The Customer support number supplied on the fake e-mail is[removed] but a Google search for PayPal's customer service number returned a customer service number o[Removed. Phone #s not permitted] so obviously fraudulent. It's an easy way to detect a phishing scam.
