I was fooled in Kleinanzeigen in Sachen and I sent money as Family and Friends. The seller doesn't answer me and I didn't find him in the address, which he gave me.

A friends / family (or gift payment) is intended as a transfer of funds from family or friends to one another. For this reason, there is no processing fee when payment is made with bank or PayPal balance.
However as it is a gift payment, there is also no buyer protection as no goods or services should have been exchanged.

If he was not a close mate or family member you should never use that option as it enables the seller to evade paying his Paypal fees and negates your buyer protection at the same time.

You would also not be able to open a dispute (apart from one citing an unauthorised transaction), which would be automatically closed as you did authorise the initial payment.

Be careful as using that option for purchasing goods is against Paypal rules and can lead to account limitation.

If you funded your Paypal payment via a credit card then contact your card issuer and see if they will help you but unfortunately they may decline as well as it was a gift payment.

Thank you so much for the time, that you spent to answer me. I knew everything, that you advised me, but I buy and I sell also in that way. This time was somebody near to me and no matter, how much I thought about it, I made the transaction. I had address and email and he asked my telephone number, so he can communicate with me on Wednesday. Guess what! He didn't! And the address, I suppose, fake! I'll try it with my bank, to cancel the payment...my last chance! Wish me good luck! Else...I am not gonna die for this money...I will make it. Thanks again! Best regards Petroula

If you are buying and selling using the friends/family option then at some point your paypal account will be permanently limited.

As you are evading paying your seller fees and negating your buyers protection when you sell then its against paypal rules.

Paypal randomly review all f/f payments and if they find that is what you are doing then you will be banned unfortunately.

Seriously? I didn't know that! Thank's that you mentioned it. However...we are talking for wirklich small things and small amounts. Nothing expensive. But good to know! Maybe I'll try Products and Services next time. Thank you again and have a nice afternoon!
