A buyer has attempted to sell me money for a bike I'm selling via Facebook marketplace . They and I received an email from '[removed]' @ [removed]' saying the initial amount couldn't be processed due to an 'account limitation payment'. It advised the buyer to send £300, so that it'd activate my account for that payment. All of this is screaming scam/phishing (!!!) to me but the buyer went ahead and payed again. The buyer and I received a confirmed email saying payment was successful but the email doesn't look legit - not paypal logos etc. And big thing - I can't see the money in my PayPal account. Please can someone help asap as I feel awful for the other person in this. Then again, I have no idea if they are scamming me either as they're asking me to transfer back to them from my own account.

THEY ARE TRYING TO SCAM YOU.
You never pay any upfront fee as a seller or to receive funds.
Ignore scammers that send fake Paypal emails telling you that you need to pay an upfront fee to verify/upgrade to a business account/or any other reason to accept a payment ie limitation.
You would certainly never have to send funds especially via another payment processor/bitcoins/ or tokens/vouchers of any sort.
Any fee is auto deducted by Paypal at the same instant the remainder of the payment is credited to your Paypal account balance.
No funds in your balance = you have not yet been paid, even pending/held payments will still show in your Paypal account activity.
Advice is voluntary.
Kudos / Solution appreciated.
