Cases Closed Wrongfully

Hi. A buyer sent two payments of £39 and £1 in error on 14 August. He then raised a case of unauthorised sales and requested a refund which I immediately gave him on 14. Now on 28 August PayPal has decided in his favour, refunded him the £40 again from my account and closed the case. How do I claim the extra £40 the buyer has received?

In that case your best bet is to reach out to customer services, state you had already issued a refund and request reimbursement?

Contact options for each countries Paypal customer services are accessed by clicking help/contact bottom left of Paypal pages.

1. Paypal phones (you can use the guest option if you can't log in).
2. Live chat is also randomly available.
3. You can send them a message, (during business hours you may also be able to message whilst logged out).
4. Have you considered contacting Customer Service via Facebook or Twitter?
You can send them a personal message from their Facebook or Twitter pages.
It's: https://www.facebook.com/PayPal and @AskPayPal for Twitter.

Did you use the 'refund' option when you returned the funds or did you use the 'send money' option?

If you used the latter then as far as paypal was concerned it was a separate transaction and not a refund.

Post back if that was the case and how you sent the funds.

@kernowlass Thanks so much for your help.  I have tried reaching out via Twitter and Facebook as the phone helpline is automated and one can't actually speak to an advisor.  I am hoping somebody can respond to me at some point and reimburse me.
