Am I protected if I pay for a home rental via PayPal (with a linked credit card).

I would like to rent a property for a big birthday party in September of next year. The vendor accepts payment by PayPal and I would need to pay a 30% deposit to secure the booking, with the balance due nearer the time. Being ever vigilant, I know that something untoward could happen to the vendor’s business between now and the rental dates and am looking for some security for my money.

Would I receive any protection from PayPal for such a payment (I could link my account to a credit card if necessary)?

Thank you for any advice that you can offer.

Buyer protection only covers you for 180 days post payment.

Buyer protection does not cover you for real estate / residential properties.

Why not read up on Paypals buyer protection policy yourself so you know what is and is not covered and can risk assess your own transaction?
