Account permanently limited

So a while ago I made my first paypal account. I went through all the verification processes and once everything was finished I was told that my account was permanently limited. I got an email saying that I would no longer have use to my paypal account due to being under 18. I am not under 18, and I have not broken any rules. Is there a way to remove this limitation or do I just not get to have a paypal account??

Were you under 18 when you opened the paypal account?

If so then it would not matter what age you are now, as soon as paypal discovered it was an illegally opened minor account it would be permanently limited.

No I opened the account when I was 18, that's why I was so confused. Should I just give up on the account and try to make a new one?

I'm worried that it'll just do the same thing again where it permanently closes my account for thinking I'm under eighteen. I'm not very interested in being permanently restricted under two different emails

You can rarely appeal a permanent ban but if you want to try an appeal then contact customer services.

They 'may' pass it to the back office but the chances of the appeal being successful are slim. Paypal state that the decision is not made lightly and once made is usually final.
