I'm sorry to hear that you've recently had an unauthorized payment. I know how upsetting that can be, and I'll be happy to provide some guidance. If you can log into your PayPal account, please reset your password and security questions immediately. You can find instructions on our Help Center here: How do I change my password and security questions? After resecuring your account, you can file an unauthorized dispute in your Resolution Center.
If you are unable to log into your PayPal account, you can try resetting your password by following these instructions: What can I do if I can't log in? If that doesn't work, please reach out to our Customer Support teams. They'll be able to help you resecure your account and file a dispute. You can contact Customer Support by selecting 'Contact' at the bottom of any PayPal webpage. We also have Customer Support options through Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook.
After securing your account, if you'd like to add an extra layer of security, I recommend setting up 2-Step Verification. 2-Step Verification requires that you enter a code each time you log in. It's also a good idea to check your recurring payments to ensure you don't have any future charges that were set up without your authorization.
