  • Last week I placed an order and paid using PayPal, the order never returned to the order page to complete the transaction. The address on the resulting invoice ends in <removed>. Have emailed the seller several times, no response.  I am concerned that this is a scam.

A total scam.  The company sent me a wrist trinket instead of an iPhone.  As they supplied a tracking number, PayPal considered the order was correct and delivered.  I submitted a claim, but was denied the $175 for refund.  I no longer use PayPal as payment.  IMO, I would ensure I order with a credit card whereas you have leverage.  PayPal still allows the firm to sell through them.  It is revenue for them, but a loss for the customer.

I have been scammed by a 163.com email address too. I didn't recognise the transaction. It stood out as was in dollars. I contacted the seller to ask what I had bought. They said a sweet flume whatever that's supposed to be. I certainly didn't make any orders so opened a dispute as unauthorised transaction (or something like as no other options covered it) 2 days later paypal kick it out! So I have no mysterious item and am out of pocket. So much for PayPal protecting people!! Not happy at all that people can get away with this. Feel like paypal just can't be bothered looking into it

I've had the same problem. I ordered XMOICO.COM a few water sports items. Once I paid with Paypal I received no confirmation from the website nor reply to my email message. Since I received from Paypal a charge from a 163.com  merchant I filed for a refund. Paypal refunded me the money almost immediately but they will have 5 days to investigate the issue further.

I was scammed too. It was advertised as a Graco carseat and all comments seem legit. Pay pal said it was legit and closed the report. I am out $70.00 and Pay pal is allowing them to continue scamming people. Obviously it has happened to many people. I will report it my bank , but I will have to go to the process of getting a new card!
