Xingyao e-commerce Co., Limited - Scam company

Hi,

Like a lot of people on this forum, I have been the victim of the whole order then get a different cheaper item. I opened a dispute with the company because I never received the item. We went back and forth for 20 days and then paypal stated I had to escalate my claim or it would be closed. I did so. The item then came in the mail and was not even what I ordered. I let paypal know, and included pictures. Paypal stated I must return the item even though I was sent the wrong one. That would be fine except the cost to send this back to China is huge and currently the post office says they cant accept packages to China because of the virus. I feel the company should have to pay return postage since it was their mistake, or resend the correct item. Now that paypal has stated I must return the item, I can no longer write anything on my claim, only the return tracking number. My text messages to paypal go unanswered. This company from China is one of many doing this while bait and switch thing. But from what I can see, paypal does NOT protect the customer, and is actually encouraging companies to continue this fraudulent practice by letting their practices continue. I mean I was shocked how many people have left posts here and yet Paypal ignores what is happening. In a previous post, someone had given some links to places we can lodge a complaint. Maybe the FTC?  Can someone send me that link again please?  and any other place where I can lodge a complaint?

thanks

Rather ironically I've just received an email from the return shippers (having used PayPal's pay my return costs scheme) saying that they haven't been able to deliver it. I used the address that Paypal gave me so as far as I'm concerned that is that.

Same for me. The ONLY reason that I felt safe with this purchase is that PayPal was accepted. I will never make that mistake again. I've been fighting with the seller and PayPal for 2 months. I don't even care about the money, I just don't want others sucked in by this scam. PayPal should NOT do business with Xingyao e-commerce Co., Limited. I've now been on chat hold for a live PayPal employee for 35 minutes.

Hi @AnnaW2020--

Like you, the reason I started this thread was to help others who had been affected this company, and to share how I was able to eventually get paypal to refund my money. I see that you wrote you have had to be on hold for a long time with paypal customer reps. Yes, that happened to me too. In fact, they finally came back online in the middle of the night, my time. But because I had already typed out all the issues, they were able to read about it and re-reviewed my case and refunded my money. If you find that you are on hold a long time, still type out everything you want to say to them and keep sending it in the chat. Eventually they will come on to chat with you, and see what you have written, just in case you are not online when they come back on.

Hope things work out for you. It is hard avoiding ordering from these sorts of companies because they often camouflage their company names with english-sounding ones and so you don't even know you are ordering from China. But like you, what disappointed me most was how paypal didnt have my back. At first, they wanted me to return the item, but I refused because the company had sent the wrong item. After chatting with reps lots, paypal refunded my money. Hopefully with enough people pointing paypal to this and other threads on the community boards that show companies that are scamming people, paypal will stop doing business with them.

Heres hoping,

Amy

I have telephoned PayPay and have used the "instant messaging". I kept the PayPal chat tab open for 36 hours so far and I still have not heard from a PayPal customer service agent. I called Chase, as I used their credit card, and Chase is giving me my money back. It is only $28, and I care WAY more about PayPal not doing business Xingyao e-commerce Co. I don't want other consumers to get taken like me.

Wow, these guys really are scammers. Same experience here. Ordered 2 cat beds/hammocks for a total value of USD 46.68 and received an item (sort of mat) worth not even USD 3.-. Started communicating with the seller, who only offered partial refund. Shipping it back to China would cost me another USD 27.- so that's clearly not an option. Besides, seller refused to give me the return address and discouraged me to send it back, because of all the problems due to covid-19. Well, I'm sorry, but that cannot become my problem. I paid almost USD 47.- for nothing. So, I started a claim through Paypal. Now I get a partial refund offered again (USD 26,-) which I will not accept, obviously. The seller made a mistake (whatever, they're crooks) so how should this in any way cost me any money? No way, I will not accept that, never. I want the full refund I'm entitled to.

The company is completely dishonest. They go online and grab images of legitimate sellers and post them as there own items and undercut the seller. You'll never get the item. If your persistent they sent some 10 cent garbage item to create a tracking number. I think PayPal should ban them and go after the company. Complete frauds.

Totally, and yes PayPal definitely should go after them but they haven't so far have they. I'm so sick of it all now which is obviously their plan, the seller and PayPal I think, maybe I will stick to Am***n in future, at least then when something goes wrong they usually sort it pretty quickly, in my experience anyway.

I've checked paypal's terms regarding that return cost refund service they want me to get but they don't even cover the tracked parcel shipping cost back to China...

They will refund a maximum of 12 return shipments per year to a maximum of 30 euro's each. That is a third of what it would actually cost to send the item back to this  fictatious seller.

You do need to front the return shipping cost, so if you do and they tell you to get shafted afterward the only thing you'll have accomplished is to increase your loss.

So don't just blindly assume this service will help!

Yes I have come to the conclusion that I may as well just cut my losses now rather than possibly rack them higher by paying to return the piece of crap they sent me,  I am very angry about it and really didn't want to give in and let them win but sometimes when you're between a rock and a hard place there's nowhere left to go, so I'm done, thanks for nothing PAYPAL!
