Unknown additional paypal account linked to our savings account

It appears someone has been able to access our saving online.

An unknown person has able to request paypal to be linked to our saving account. They where able to view the 2 micro-deposit and get my account linked to an unkown paypal account.

They have withdrawn a total of $5450.

The problem is 2 folds.

First

I can not report this dispute online via paypal. As this paypal account is unknown. And I can only report fraudelant claims on a known paypal account. This appears very short sighted on Paypal fraudulant team.

Second.

When I setup new payment user via my bank website. It forced me to prompt a 2 step authentication. To verify before payment is allowed.

When setting up Paypal access. No 2 step authentication occured. Why does Paypal get special treatment vs a user or 1st time Bpayment force me to perform a 2 step verification. I know this is not paypal problem but my banks. Never the less it appears to me these are win to fix. And avoid unnessary grief.

You’ll have to report the unauthorized $5450 transaction to your bank asap which will in turn put a bank reversal at PayPal directly to the account. Your bank account info was compromised somehow and someone took it to open a PayPal account. You should report this to your credit report agency in your country to freeze your credit, file police report. Do a web search on what you have to do in case of identity theft/compromised bank account.

Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂
