Six weeks waiting for refund from scam

In late Sept 2021 I spent AUD4150 on a Chanel bag, full set. To protect myself, I paid via PayPal GS. What arrived in the mail instead was a brochure-like item weighing 50g. PayPal has asked me to complete a number of steps to gain my refund, all of which I have dutifully done. I am not kept updated on the status on my claim, I am simply told that back office is handling it. And each time I call or message to seek support I am told the matter has been ‘escalated’ but with no outcome. Last week, after five weeks of waiting, I ended up in tears on the phone. I am a hardworking nurse and loyal PayPal customer who never makes vexatious claims and who is now out of pocket $4150 for an item that never arrived. I simply don’t understand why PayPal isn’t resolving this matter in my favour.

Paypal it appears are inundated with claims mainly from buyers that bought tat from these China websites or Social Media ads !
So all claims are being pushed back unfortunately.

As long as yours has been escalated from a dispute to a claim, and is still being reviewed then you have the chance of a refund.
Sadly you will have to wait it out in the long queue though.
