Should a case be resolved when one party has both the item and the payment?

I contacted Mikkel on Paypal Denmark. He gave me instructions to send the item back to the seller. This was a mistake. There was no feedback on whether or not my documentation was eligible or not. There is no loyalty in Paypal anymore. I have been a secure Paypal customer for over 20 years and still there is no trust. I contacted the seller concerning this case and he just laughed at me saying he knew that he would win the case. I am totally shocked and frustrated. I am seriously concerned about using paypal again. The seller on this occasion was a very sophisticated swindler. He got past paypal and fooled the both of us. Now he is laughing at the both of us. I find this very hard to believe. I believe that I issued the documentation that was required. The seller told me that he works in law, so it would be very difficult to win against him. Well he did. Paypal should have another look at this situation. I was told on a phone call to send the item back to the seller. When paypal agreed that the seller wins, he had the item and the payment. Not fair, and the seller has both parts of the case. There should be an overview of where and who has got what in the case before a final decision is made. It is a case of winner takes all. There was no consideration of where the case stood or any feedback to whether there could be a doubt in the say. This is a case of, 'Get on with it and let's have the money' Like a machine. Not a happy with paypal at all.
