Seller provided tracking info but hasn't shipped item, asking me to close case. Do I?

Hey,

I purchased a shirt off an unknown website (very small google results) for 50$ 2 weeks ago.

The website never emailed me any of these
Order Confirmation
Tracking info

So I go to their website to contact them but their contact form errors and doesn't send the email...

So I open a case under paypal.

Item not received

reason: I haven't received the tracking info
The seller never emailed me tracking info. Never gave me an order confirmation email. Website said it would be here by now on checkout. Sellers website doesn’t let you contact them

The seller same day updated the case and provided a tracking number.
I didn't check the case for 2 days and received an email from him privately

"I updated tracking number, please close your case."

I was like oh great!, but upon checking tracking number there is

"Tracking label has been created, USPS has not received item yet"

So I'm worried. If I close the case per his request, he could never ship item, and then I'd be unable to open another case as paypal tells me

If i close the case I wont be able to reopen it or escalate it to a claim. What should I do?

NEVER close a case until you have your item, if it gets near 20 days post opening it then escalate to a claim before it auto closes.

If the tracking number causes paypal to close the claim and the item still does not arrive then post back for more advice.

If the item arrives not as described then contact paypal to open a second claim for you.

If you get a refund and then the item turns up and its ok then its easy enough to pay the seller again.

Advice is voluntary.
Kudos / Solution appreciated.
