Reopen Dispute

PP-D-151357874 was closed and I agreed to no refund of my initial subscription payment to eHarmony even though I used their site less than 24 hours. However, they are now trying to collect additional payments they say is due on the subscription. I cancelled future payments through PayPal, but they are insisting and are getting a collection agency involved. Help from you would be appreciated!

Thanks,

You can't, you've lost your money. Paypal is basically a scam website you could try your luck with calling their customer service but you probably won't get anywhere as Paypal rejects 90% of claims where under their user agreement you should get your money back, what Paypal does should be illegal.

Hi @17hotrod17

Welcome to the PayPal Community.

Generally, when you have a pre-approved payment or active subscription set up on your PayPal account with a merchant, we cannot step in and deny the payment. If the agreement is active and was set up by yourself, then it is your responsibility to cancel the agreement.

I know it can be frustrating, especially when you don't want the money to be taken. To keep future payments from being taken by the merchant(s) from your account, I'd recommend cancelling the agreements on your PayPal account, or directly with the seller. For steps on this, see: What is an automatic payment and how do I cancel or update one?

I would advise reaching out to the merchant in order to come to a resolution on this.

I tried working with eHarmony and the refused any help and have turned me over to a collection agency! I guess I'll have to pay to avoid affecting my credit but will do all I can to discredit eHarmony.

Thanks,

Ralph
