Permanent BAN / limited account.

Got a permanent ban / limitation and account blocked or terminated without any good reasons..

I've had an account for YEARS, in good standing, etc. Never had a problem.

I've sent quite a bit of money back in late 2017 to a few people for a project.

They sent me that thorough identity confirmation process to keep going.

Submitted all documents, all were accepted, except the proof of identity was rejected multiple times.

The document they ask doesn't exist with the date of birth on it, in Quebec, Canada.

And I believe some other people around the world have been having trouble with this process as well.

After trying to contact them by e-mail, without any responses, I called.

They said that my account was terminated.

I asked to get access to my money in the account and I got it transfered to my bank not long after, no problem there.

I also asked what I need to do to keep using PayPal.

"I have to create a new account?" The girl on the phone said yes.

I did, now this account not long after sending and receiving some money, got permanently limited.

I cannot use PayPal anymore, ever, for the rest of my life.

I called twice so far.. no specific reason given, other than "business decision".

People on the phone being rude. Unheplful.

I feel like I'm being treated as a criminal or a scammer?

PayPal is just a great service and useful. And I need it to receive money for business and personal matters.

What have you become?

All this process was caused ENTERILY by PayPal itself, revoking access to some people, almost at random, to their services.

I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one here.

I don't know if anyone got out of this mess and had success getting access to their service again.

Please. Help.

Paypal_Adam1: Your response is absolutely unacceptable. You have hundreds of people telling you that their accounts have been permanently banned, as well as funds STOLEN by PayPal, without any accountability. There is no due process, nor any reasons given by PayPal. I cannot believe PayPal is still in business. I have never seen another company have such limited financial transparency and corrupt practices.

If I may add, last year I was specifically threatened with a libel lawsuit, if I would post any inaccurate Informationen. I am carefully choosing my words, but in heart fully agree to the last comment. There is Zero evidence presented to me, but in your eyes I am 100% guilty with no chance of remediation. What is PayPal afraid of? I am hoping for a class action lawsuit and would be happy to join.

Adam, have you ever tried calling your service? I called multiple times, the person on the other side is reading the same answer over and over and over again. And to specific, I am told in so many words, we ban you but we are not telling you why. And btw, we hold any funds for 180 days. Next, you are unable to remove our access to your accounts. Do I assume because you want to take more of my money? This is here in the forum so everyone can see your business practices. You are hiding, Adam.

What's sad and unacceptable is that PAYPAL  doesn't  want to delete your personal data!  ALL bank accounts, credit cards are still there in their system after an account is 'banned' or suspended.  This is ridiculous!

I call that against the law. Big companies like PayPal seem to believe they stand above the law. I am not finished with them until they remove that.

Same problem here. I'm new to Paypal for less than 21 days I have received money from a dividends of my stocks investment thru an online platform. Then Paypal permanently banned/terminated my account within a few hours after receiving the money. They've asked me details regarding the matter but I could not see what e-mail of theirs should I sent it too. You've said you have sent emails to them. Can you give their email?

I sent them through the notifications in my account. If you log into your account and scroll down there will be a red notifications click on it and it will take to to a page where you can send them. Just click on the resolve icon and you send it there. They will list everything they want you to send. Hope that helps. Venus

That works only 21 days -- however I was under the impression this was junk, since I get multiple messages like it every day, and didn't click on the link until they blocked my account. After the 21 days they just block you with no way of ever talking to a human being.
