PayPal won't help, please can you?

I purchased a radiator from eBay for £192 and paid via PayPal.

The radiator was delivered, I paid the plumber £100 to install the radiator.

The radiator leaked so seller arranged collection and sent a replacement.

Replacement radiator delivered, I paid the plumber another £100 to install it.

Replacement radiator leaks!

I have spend hours on the phone to PayPal trying to explain that I cannot return the radiator as I don't have another £100 to pay the plumber to remove it.

PayPal have now closed the case against me as their stupid system won't let me do anything except upload a returns note and I can't return the radiator as I can't afford to pay the plumber another £100 to remove it.

Basically I have a leaking radiator in my house, no way of sorting this situation and it has so far cost me £392.

Any help much appreciated, thank you.

Buyer protection is not a 100% coverall, they cover you for non receipt OR not as described but if you read up on it you have to return any item trackable (to prove delivery) before being refunded.

Were you out of time for an Ebay dispute?

Only if you file a dispute for not as described on Ebay (and not just a return request) then the seller foots the bill.

Paypal and Ebay buyer protection have limitations and don't cover you 100% however that does not stop you using the small claims court against the seller?

Due to having to wait for the plumber & for the 1st faulty radiator to be exchanged I am out of time with eBay. I needed a new radiator because the old one leaked....I now still have a leaking radiator and £392 less in my bank! This is all so stressful, I really thought PayPal would help me

I have called PayPal again & they have reopened my dispute. The seller should refund as goods are not fit for purpose under UK law. I just don't have another £100 to pay plumber & £25 to return faulty radiator, as I still have to work out how I am going to pay for another radiator & to get it fitted. I would have been happy if replacement radiator had been OK but I can't accept 2 faulty items & no refund, it might end up in County Court. I appreciate your comments.
