It is needed to share my ID for company that pays with paypal

Hello, I have started working for an online company that pays through paypal. They ask me to share my ID with them since paypal raises an error without sharing ID. Is that correct? I have set my debit card already in paypal why the sender of money should need my ID. Thanks in advance

Well they need to know the account to send the money to don't they?

They would need your email address linked and confirmed on your paypal account OR your mobile number if using the app.

You haven't said which country you are in so hard to advise on anything else.

Thanks for the reply. I live in Sweden. I have already sent them the phone number and email but still they ask for the copy of my id to be able to transfer money.
